GENERAL

I'm a Single User. Which version should I use?

For single users, we recommend using Cloud. With Cloud you don’t need to deal with a server application, networking, or backup management.

Do I need an Internet connection to access Billings Pro or Billings Pro Touch?

You do not require an internet connection to use Billings Pro. Information is stored locally on your machine or iOS device. A connection is only required to setup, sync or send out estimates, invoices, and statements.

Is Billings Pro available in different languages?

Billings Pro is currently available in English, French, and German.

What devices support Billings Pro Touch?

Billings Pro Touch was built for use on iPhone and iPod touch, and will run on iPad in either it's original size or expanded using the 2x zoom feature.

Can I use Billings Pro on a PC?

Colleagues can track time and enter expenses on a Windows PC using Timecard. Timecard works on Internet Explorer 8.0+, however we recommend using Firefox, Chrome, or Safari for Windows.

Is there training available for Billings Pro?

For training and implementation services, please contact one of our Certified Partners. We also have a library of tutorial videos that will help get you started.

What are the differences between Billings Pro and Billings?

There are many differences between the two applications and we’ve highlighted them here with our comparison chart.

Can I migrate from Billings 3?

Billings 3 can be migrated to Billings Pro Cloud by the user by following these instructions.

How customizable are the templates?

Our templates are very customizable. Items such as placement, fonts, colors and images are easily changed within our template editor. The engine is very powerful and flexible (evidence: the best invoices anywhere), and as with anything with such power and flexibility, expertise is required to get the most out of it. Since the engine is shared with Daylite and Billings, there is existing knowledge out there. Concepts can found here (PDF). Template layout and design movies can be found here. Does Billings Pro have an API?

Currently there is no API for third parties. We do plan to add this in the future. We do have the ability to run FScript scripts (or FScript wrapped within AppleScript), but we have not documented the potential calls and methods.

Cloud

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. You do not need to enter a credit card. You Sign up to the free plan and are only required to enter your credit card when you are ready to upgrade your account.

Do I need to select a plan now?

No. You are automatically signed up on the Free Plan and you can choose your plan from your control panel when you are ready to upgrade.

Do you offer educational or non-profit discounts for cloud?

How do I change my password?

Changing Your Password

  1. Administrators can change all user passwords from within Control Panel.
  2. Log into Control Panel. Click the Users tab.
  3. Click Edit, Enter a new password and confirm it.
  4. Save your new password.

Forgotten Passwords
There are two ways to reset your password if you’ve forgotten it.

  1. An admin can reset your password by going to your user profile and resetting your password. Upon logging into your control panel, you can change your password.
  2. If you are the administrator on your account and have forgotten your password, please email info@marketcircle.com.

What payment methods do you currently accept for Cloud?

Billings Pro Cloud currently supports payments using Visa or Mastercard.

How do I update my credit card details?

As Administrator, Login to your control panel and click on the Billing Tab. You can update your billing details here.

I want to pay yearly. Is this possible?

This is not currently possible. We will be introducing yearly plans in the future.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my account?

You can upgrade or downgrade your account anytime in Control Panel. Log in to Control Panel as an Administrator on your account and click the Billing tab. Select Plan, and confirm.

How do I cancel my account?

To cancel your account please email us at info@marketcircle.com.

What security measures are in place with Marketcircle Cloud?

Data synchronized between Billings Pro and Marketcircle Cloud is encrypted using SSL. All of our servers are behind secure firewalls and are located in a Tier 1 datacenter with multiple physical security measures.

Can I continue using Billings Pro if there are planned or unplanned network or service interruptions?

One of the benefits of Billings Pro is that your data is stored locally on your machine or mobile device and you are using native applications so you can continue working without interruption even if your network is unavailable or our servers are unreachable. In the unlikely event of downtime, Timecard and invoice generation will be unavailable. We'll tweet notices out for planned maintenance and we'll post any updates to http://www.marketcircle.com/status/ if our server status changes.

Can I move my data from Billings Pro Cloud to Self Serve in the future?

This is not currently possible. The storage mechanisms in the cloud are very different from Self Serve and you are unable to revert back.

Self-Serve

Can I try it out before I buy it? Are there any limits to the trial version?

Billings Pro can be tried by your entire organization for 30 days. There are no limitations to the trial version, and if you decide to purchase, you'll be able to continue working right from where you left off.

Do I need a server computer to use Billings Pro?

For Self-Serve you'll require an Intel Mac machine running Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later to host your database. You do not require a "server grade" machine – see system requirements (below) for more details. - Need to worry about networking and backups

I’m a Single User. Should I use Self Serve?

For single users, we recommend using Cloud. With Cloud you don’t need to deal with a server application, networking, or backup management. This setup is only recommended for multi-user groups with knowledge of server management or with an IT professional to help them manage their network.

If I'm using Switchboard, does my data pass through Marketcircle servers?

No. Switchboard is a free service for Billings Pro to connect to Billings Pro Server and devices to connect to Touch Server remotely. The primary purpose of Switchboard is to communicate and update the IP address of the server machine to the Billings Pro client machines.
